The white unit is the On / Off switch & the controller. Both ends are secured by paper (sticky) a** holes. When I move my left shoulder, the metal rod moves, the control unit senses this movement and sends a signal to my computer. The computer then sends this signal to the transmitter, telling my hand to open or close. This allows me to hold objects like a pen, fork or cup without a brace ;-)
